If your family has not been camping, then you don't know what you're missing. Camping, whether in a tent or RV, is a fantastic way to bond with your family and is the True Family Social Network.  You can rough it in a tent, or setup an RV with full hookups, cable TV and free WiFi. Yes, I said WiFi. Campgrounds are more like resorts these days with the same amenities of your major hotels like pools, courts, workout rooms, games and even sites with private hot tubes.

 Many family-oriented campgrounds offer weekend events like outdoor movies, tie-dyeing, fireworks and s'more parties. Some folks come just to enjoy the campground experience and others are there because of the destination. My family has camped everywhere from the beaches of North Carolina, Hersey, Pennsylvania, Meteor Crater in Arizona, Washington DC and San Fransisco area.

 One of our most memorable experiences was when we stayed in Amish Country outside Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The campground was just outside of a working Amish farm. One morning we woke to a knock at our door and an Amish family with their horse and buggy full of homemade pies.

 The smell was incredible, so we decided to purchase what turned out to be the most wonderful blueberry pie we have ever eaten. Just thinking about that pie makes me wish we were there again. Some of our most memorable life experiences happened when we were camping in our RV.

My family has put together a great list of our Top 10 Family Campgrounds in the USA. We know there are lots of great campgrounds, but these are our most memorable.

1. Walt Disney World Orlando - The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort

Disney World is not only a great place to vacation, but it also a great place to camp with your family. This is our most favorite campground with 750 acres full of pine trees and lots of wild life. The park is located within the Disney World grounds with full access to Disney transportation, onsite dining, swimming pool and other activities. Pets are also welcome within the campground.

2. Washington DC - Cherry Hill Park

Cherry Hill Park is actually located in College Park, Maryland just north of Washington DC. This is the best park if you're looking to visit Washington DC. The park has a bus stop with access to the nearest Metro station. You can get from the park to Washington DC within about 30 minutes. The park also has a great family swimming pool with other activities available.

3. Destin, Florida - Camping On The Gulf

If you want a campground right on the beach, and I mean right on the beach, then you should try Camping On The Gulf in Destin, Florida. The park has several sites within feet of the crystal clear waters of Destin. The park also has 2 outdoor pools, 1 indoor pool, a game room and an activity center. The campsites are a bit pricey, but its one of the only campgrounds we've seen right on the ocean.

4. South Padre Island, Texas - KOA Campground

We are partial to Texas and we love South Padre Island. We have stayed several time at the KOA campground in South Padre Island. Its located right next to the bay with access to fishing, a great seafood restaurant called Pier 19, and the beach is only a short drive away. The park is clean and well managed with a real family feel.

5. Yellowstone National Park - Grizzly RV Park

Yellowstone is our top National Park in the USA. The park is home to a number of wild animals including black bear which we saw on our last visit. Grizzly RV Park is located in West Yellowstone, Montana. It is bordered on two sides by the Gallatin National Forest making for a wonderful nature feel. The park also has a full game room that is free for kids.

6. Hershey, Pennsylvania - Hershey Highmeadow Campground

If you like chocolate, then you have to visit Hershey, Pennsylvania. We have also included this destination in our Family Vacation section. This top 10 listing is for the Hershey Highmeadow Campground. The campground has 55 acres of nature and is located just down the road from the Hershey amusement park. There are lots of activities including 2 pools, game room, playground and more.

7. Petoskey, Michigan - Petoskey KOA Campground

Being from the south, we had never heard of Petoskey, MI. This is a great little town just off of Lake Michigan with easy driving access to Mackinac Island. The Petoskey KOA won the 2009 KOA President's Award and Founders Award for service. This is a great place to camp with your family.

8. Vicksburg, Mississippi - Askew's Landing Campground

If you are looking for a place that is a bit rustic but with lots of history, you must visit Askew's Landing Campground just outside Vicksburg, Mississippi. They have 40 full hook-up sites with many located right in the middle of a beautiful green field. You really feel like you're camping as you park your RV on grass with no city sounds for miles. The property used to be Bridgeport Plantation and the site of several Civil War battles. It is now listed as a Historical Landmark.

9. Ronks, Pennsylvania - Flory's Cottages & Camping

Ronks is in the heart of Amish Country just outside Bird in Hand. Yes, these are the names of the towns. There is even an Intercourse, PA. Names aside, this is beautiful country. The reason we chose Flory's is that the campground is adjacent to an active Amish farm. One morning, we were greeted by an Amish family selling the most wonderful homemade pies from the back of their Amish buggy.

10. Shady Cove, Oregon - Rogue River RV Park

Shady Cove is in southern Oregon about 52 miles from Crater Lake. We just happen to pull into this park looking for a place where we could easily drive to Crater Lake. Wow, were we pleasantly surprised. The Rogue River flows right next to the park with salmon and steelhead fishing at your door step. As a fisherman, this was one of the most exciting places to stay for me.

What dinner meal takes normally fifteen minutes to prepare but tastes delicious? A meal made in a slow cooker of course. If you really want to save time but still make a great dinner for your family, then take a few minutes in the morning to get the ingredients ready, toss them into the cooker and go.

There are tons of good recipes available now days, but how do you know which are the best crockpot recipes? Should you select chicken or beef, soup or stew, spaghetti or pizza?

Easy Crockpot Beef Stew

6 large potatoes, peeled and cut into pieces
6 large carrots, peeled and cut in 1 1/2 inches
3 lbs of beef stew meat
1/3 cup soy sauce
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp. pepper
3 Tbsp of flour
1-12 oz bag of onions
1 cup condensed beef broth
1 8 oz. can tomato sauce
1 tsp. salt

Layer potatoes, then carrots on the bottom of the slow cooker, line top with beef. Sprinkle with soy sauce, salt, pepper, and flour. Mix the beef broth and tomato sauce and pour over everything and cook on high setting for 5-7 hours.

Tortilla Chicken

1 doz. corn tortillas
3 cans cream of mushroom soup or cream of celery soup
1 (8oz) pkg. Jack cheese, grated
1 (8oz) pkg. Cheddar cheese, grated
2 cans (4oz each) chopped chiles
1 boiled de-boned chicken (3 to 4 cups chopped)
1/2 med. onion, diced

Layer in a slow cooker the soup, tortillas, cheese, chicken, chiles, onion, soup; repeat using all of the ingredients. Cook on low setting for 6-7 hours.

Spaghetti Slow Cooker Recipe

2 lbs. ground chuck, browned and drained
1 cup chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 cans (15 ounces each) tomato sauce
2 to 3 tsp. Italian seasoning
2 cans (4 ounces each) sliced mushrooms, drained
6 cups tomato juice
1 package (16 ounces) dry spaghetti, broken into 4 to 5- inch pieces

Mix all ingredients, except dry spaghetti, in slow cooker. Stir well. Cook on low 6-8 hours or high 3-5 hours. If cooking on low setting, turn to high during last hour and add dry spaghetti.

To Die For Pot Roast

3 1/2 to 4 LB Rump Roast

1 Bag Of Baby Cut Carrots

3 Large Onions

5 Potatoes

1 Can Of Cream Of Mushroom Soup

1 Packet Of French Onion Soup Mix

1/4 Cup Water

Place rump roast in the crockpot. Place the baby carrots around it. Chop up onions into quarters. Slice up potatoes into small chunks, and place around the beef. Add mushroom soup and the onion soup mix. Mix about a 1/4 cup of water into the crockpot. Depending upon how thick you like your gravy mix you can add more water. 

Place crockpot on low for 8 hours. Stirring occasionally. Beef just pulls right apart. Serve with a nice side salad or some garlic bread. You will be coming back for seconds, thirds and fourths.

Recipe #2:

Moist Meatloaf In the Crockpot

2 Eggs

3/4 Cup Milk

2/3 Cup Seasoned Bread Crumbs

2 TSP Dried Minced Onion or Garlic

1 TSP Salt

1/2 Teaspoon Marjoram

1-1/2 Ground Turkey

1/4 Cup Ketchup

2 TBSP Brown Sugar

1/2 TSP Worcestershire

In a large bowl, combine the first 6 ingredients. Crumble the beef over the mixture and mix well. Shape into a round loaf; place in the crockpot. Cover and cook on low for about 6 hours. In a small mixing bowl, combine the ketchup, brown sugar, and worcestershire sauce.

 Gently pour it over the meat loaf. Cook for about 15 minutes or until heated through. Let stand for about 15 - 20 minutes before cutting. Serve with some garlic mashed potatoes and your favorite vegetable, and your family will think it was the best meatloaf ever.

Recipe #3:

Cheesy Chili Dogs

1 full pack of hotdogs

2 cans of chilli

1 can condensed cheddar cheese soup

1 can chopped green chillies

2 - 3 Dashes of hot sauce ( if you like it spicier judge accordingly)

10 hot dog buns

1 large onion chopped

Toppings:

Shredded cheddar cheese

Sour Cream

Salsa

Place the hot dogs in a slow cooker. In a bowl combine the chilli, soup and green chillies; pour completely over the hot dogs. Cover and cook on low for about 4 - 5 hours. Serve the hot dogs in the buns, you then top it with the chilli mixture, and onion. Then add the toppings you want. Great for kids. It can be cut up and served with Macaroni and Cheese.

* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* ¾ tsp salt
* 2 large, beaten eggs

Here is what you need to do:

1. Preheat your oven to 3250F.
2. Meanwhile, grease 10 4-inch cake tins with a non-stick spray.
3. In a large bowl, put your flour, the cocoa powder, the baking soda, sugar and salt. Combine well. Once it has been combined evenly, you add the butter, the sour cream, water, vanilla extract and the eggs. Continue combining to make a thick batter that can be easily poured into your cake tin. 

4. Fill the cake tins halfway with batter. Distribute the batter evenly by shaking it side to side. 

5. Place the tins inside the preheated oven.Make sure that it is placed in the center of the oven to ensure even cooking.
6. Cook for 22 minutes or until nothing comes out of the toothpick or cake tester once you inserted it in the center of the cake.

7. At this point, the cake springs. That means it looks spongy. This should not be dense.
8. Remove the cake tin from the oven and allow to cook in room temperature. This should be about 10 minutes.
9. Once it has been completely cooled, transfer it to the wire rack. Add chocolate frosting on top.
10. But if you want to make it a double layer, cut the cake crosswise on a piece of parchment paper.Add chocolate frosting on top of the second half.

 The top half should then cover the second half. Once it is done, cover the top part with frosting as well. The sides should also be covered with frosting.

Steel Industry Import Taxes

When we raised the steel import tax a few years ago it hurt many manufacturing sectors who used steel in their production. It also hurt smaller companies, which use steel in their products. US Steel prices have cost our team thousands of extra dollars due to the import taxes that were imposed.

 We told everyone if they raise the cost of steel even one hundred dollars per ton we will seek to build the truck beds out of other materials, and once we do we will never go back to steel. It is heavy, costs gas mileage, rusts, leaving iron oxide streaks on the exterior paint. It is by the cost we even still use steel.

If the steel companies in this country cannot run more efficient and get their labor unions to perform efficiently then one should not expect the public to support that industry or buy their products. We can build the truck beds out of fiberglass, plastic or composite. We will be able to build uni-body shells and make them more ascetically pleasing.

 So the administration and the steel industry better get their act together. The auto industry also took a hit and many of the cars are moving to lighter materials and they will not go back once they do because the mileage savings in efficiency is important also.

We need Brazil as a trading partner; we need Japan's economy to return to growth. We should not give a crutch to an industry that is not innovative and lets their workers kick back and do little if any work. The steel union is strong and they do not believe in hard work ethic like the competition in their industry. We should not support laziness and give a company an edge.

 Giving away free fish makes even the best of us lazy. This problem is affecting our team and costing our franchisees money and ROI time, due to increased costs in new equipment. That hurts their families and their ability to grow their businesses. The import tax of 50% on steel, hurts the rest of the economy, it hurts my team at a time when we need better prices. This creates a monopoly on steel for a couple of steel companies who are planning a merger.

 I am upset that we are attacking American companies who have won the market by serving customers and giving them what they want as we all vote with our dollar and then the government creates monopolies at the same time.

 So of course monopolies are Good as long as the government creates them. We are glad to see that these steel companies are now able to produce steel now that the prices are up, yet some of these steel mills are closed to sell their energy contracts to other companies and stay closed, thus who are we helping? Certainly not my team; we will now see jobs for cars and etc move to Mexico and China this would also be for tractors and heavy industry trucks and trailer manufacturers.

If we help one industry temporarily and then give away jobs and factory capacity to other countries for no reason. We are tilting more than one field by doing this. As a matter of fact we are not going to stand for these increases at all. Screw that, it affects our team at a time when we are creating jobs and all of us entrepreneurs are trying to dig ourselves out of the recession.

 It is good to see that administration was able to re-look at this issue as early as July to lower the import tax and eventually get rid of it soon after in that first year of increased tariff taxes. Then we can get the entire South American countries on our team as trade partners, we may need them.

As far as orange juice, we can justify restrictions for reasons of fruit flies, but for steel, I am not sure we can justify this now because we did not sign the Kyoto Treaty and now we are stating we cannot buy Brazilian steel due to the methods of manufacturing hurting the environment, hypocritical tactic, we should not go there. Besides we have technology, cheap technology to prevent these pollutants anyway, all we need to do is see they are in place and let them into the market to keep our steel industry on their feet and from getting lazy,

 costing our manufacturing of truck beds too much, thus hurting our ability to create jobs by giving our team the incentive to realize a fair profit in a time when many small companies are going out of business and large ones skipping the nuisance of paying bills in their accounts payable departments by filing bankruptcy, Kmart, PG&E, Enron, Global Crossing and others in the news lately. We cannot dig out America if we are continually forcing more costs on other industries that need help too. Such as the truck building industry, rail car industry,

 even garbage truck construction is down 30%, school buses, bridges and infrastructure. Steel is used for lots of things and there is significant volumes; what was the problem with the industry that they could not make a profit if they had a little competition? Strong survive and that is a fundamental basic of free markets. Think about it.

Saving vehicles for children such as the Junior ISA or Child Trust Fund (CTF), are frequently reported as being tax free but it is not always made completely clear which types of tax these vehicles are exempt from and how those taxes would otherwise work. This two-part article looks at the three areas of tax that are relevant to children's savings, Capital Gains Tax (CGT), Inheritance Tax and, in the first part, Income Tax.

Income Tax

As many people will have experienced, Income Tax is a particularly complex area of tax. In its most basic definition it is tax applied to any money which and individual earns as income, but in practice there are a number of distinctions as to which types of income are taxable and which are deemed as exempt.

Bands and Personal Allowance

The level and rate of tax that an individual is required to pay will depend on the overall level of income they receive from all relevant sources. Employment Income

However, it is not simply cash in the pay packet that counts - many other benefits in kind such as company cars and medical insurance can also be taxable.

Income tax levied through your work is usually taken through what is known as Pay As You Earn (PAYE) whereby it is deducted from each of your pay packets by your employer and paid directly to the HMRC, unless you are self employed, in which case you are responsible for assessing and paying your own tax.

There are however, certain types of investment and savings vehicles which have been given special tax free status by the government such as ISAs and Child Trust Funds, where the interest payments and dividends, for example, may be exempted.

Benefits

Perhaps, slightly counter intuitively, even many types of state benefits are subject to Income Tax although the list is generally limited to the benefits which are designed to supplement or replace employment income, such as jobseekers allowance, incapacity benefits (after a certain period of time) and carers allowance. The state benefits which are not subjected to Income Tax are generally those which are awarded to cover particular expenses that an individual encounters in day-to-day living, such as disability related benefits, child benefits and winter fuel allowances for the elderly.

Children Savings

As all income up to the Personal Allowance threshold is exempt from tax anyway, most children's savings will be unaffected by Income Tax although for those who are fortunate enough to bring in more than the personal allowance there are tax free options available. In particular the Child Trust Funds, Junior ISAs and other NS&I vehicles are free from the usual Income Tax including that on interest payments and dividend tax on investments.

On other non-tax free accounts there is a tax rule in place which is designed to prevent parents exploiting their childrens' savings accounts in order to avoid Income Tax. Essentially, the income made on contributions/donations made by each parent is only exempt from Income Tax up to the limit of £100. However the limitation does not apply to grandparents or other donors and, as it is applied per person, it can allow for income of up to £400 where there are two step parents (in addition to two parents) involved.

The exemption from the various effects of Income Tax on savings and investments is usually the biggest benefit of a tax free savings vehicle for a child like a Junior ISA, but there are other taxes that need to be considered when planning your child's financial future.
